Call for Contributions

You are warmly invited to make a contribution to this conference
that will help you and the other participants to learn more about
gaming simulations and about the ways they are designed and applied

Propose a thematic session

In a thematic session all contributions focus on a specific theme or subject. Thematic sessions begin with an introduction of that specific theme and a stipulation of the sessionís objectives; subsequently a number of participants present their contributions with regard to the central theme; these presentations result in a discussion between contributors and participants, which should lead to some conclusions.
Every participant may propose a theme for a thematic session. This implies that the initiator prepares the session, chairs it and reports the results and the yields. Any subject or theme that is deemed relevant for this conference and/or for the Simulation & Gaming society may be put forward for a thematic session.

Propose a paper

If you want to submit a paper for the conference, you may proceed in two ways:

  • you may submit a paper for one of the thematic sessions. On the website a list of thematic sessions will be published. You may indicate that you want to make a contribution to a specific thematic session. In this case you have to take into account the special requirements that are formulated by the sessionís chair; these can be found on the website. The chair will ultimately decide whether your proposal will be accepted for the session.
  • you may submit a paper for one of the single paper session. In this case there are no extra requirements concerning the content of your contribution, besides the recommendations that are listed below. The conference organizers reserve the right to refuse proposed contributions that do not fit the guiding principle or culture of the conference.

Challenges for contributors

Since the guiding principle of this conference is 'learning by doing' we would like you to consider the following recommendations for contributors
  • focus on active learning, not on just presenting information
  • focus on action and interaction, instead of mere one way communication
  • we want to learn, not by just elaborating things we already know, but also by exploring new areas and challenges for gaming simulationsí theory and practice, and by meeting new people with new insights and views
  • when preparing your proposal, stipulate learning objectives for yourself and for your Ďaudienceí.
